It is rare for something to go viral at work, but this has been on every computer today.

It's a Russian lady "painting" pictures in sand. It's oddly mesmerizing.

On an unrelated note I licked 157 Christmas card envelopes this morning. YEAH, YOU READ THAT RIGHT. My tongue is sore and I have a papercut above my lip.

The [info]winchestmidwest registration is now open. I had a chance to sit down with my sister this weekend to start updating the website. We missed a couple of things so we'll get catch those in our second go-around.

I'm really excited!! This very well might be our last chance to get together as a group and talk about our hopes and dreams for the show while it's still on-air. We have some really cool panels and events up our sleeve and are pulling out all the stops. I hope you join us! :)

Lily (my cat): *jumps onto the table where my Nativity scene is displayed*
Me: Get down!
Lily: *bats at Baby Jesus until He falls off table*
Me: LILY!
Lily: *jumps off table and pounces on Baby Jesus*
Me: Leave Baby Jesus alone! You are going to Kitty Hell!!
Tara (on phone): Maybe she doesn't like spoilers!! She didn't know there was going to be a baby in the manager! She thought they were just partying in a barn!!

We just drew names for our "Year-End Non-Denominational Gift-Giving Exchange" and I got Becky. JOY. I'm actually thinking of getting her something for her dogs (she runs the local chapter of the Boxer rescue and is currently fostering three dogs). I was actually hoping to get Laura so I could buy her a book about how to be a good manager. *ba da bum*

It has become a warped sort of holiday tradition to start caroling with all your FListers. As usual, this is all [info]caffienekitty's fault.

NOW IT IS YOUR TURN. Post your own voice in your journal, here are the lyrics for you to interpret as you will. And the most important part - HAVE FUN. This isn't an audition for Glee, just have fun and belt it out. Singing is good for the soul. :)

Dear Glee,

You're right. My life would suck without you.

Love,
Me.

That was one fulfilling hour of television. CRIPES. Amber Riley can blow the ROOF off.

First thing you need to know is that my Dad is Clark Griswold. Every Christmas my mother complains that airline pilots use their house to navigate because it can be seen from space. But my dad just loves Christmas (when we were little he would make reindeer/sleigh tracks in the snow by our front door and wearily tell us that Santa was probably SO ANNOYED that we didn't have a chimney so he had to use the front door) and all the decorations that come along with it.

Especially his mechanical deer. You don't MESS with the mechanical deer. )

We knew this storm was coming, I mean, it's been all over the news since last week. But thank you, Middleton, for calling me at THREE IN THE MORNING to say howdy and remind me we were in a snow emergency and to please not leave my house. I will never understand how nosy/bossy this city is. On the other hand, my mother called at SEVEN IN THE MORNING to say howdy and gleefully tell me she and my father were staying home from work today. Yes, thank you, BUT I WAS SLEEPING. Considering we got something like 16" of snow last night and it's STILL snowing outside, yeah. I didn't plan on going to work today. I planned on sleeping in, being lazy, maybe watching a Christmas movie. Instead I'm up at 7am making cinnamon rolls and coffee for the poor soul outside trying to snowblow our sidewalk. Buddy, it's a losing battle but thank you for trying.

Pictures of the winter carnage. )

I want to get my Christmas tree tonight and what is the name of the closest tree farm to my house?

Jensen Christmas Tree Farm. It's good to know Ackles has a career to fall back on if this whole "actor" thing doesn't work out.

Every year I blather on about Sons of Mistletoe which is one of my favorite guilty pleasure made-for-TV Christmas movies. I just finished watching it for the who-knows-how-many-th time with a cup of tea, a warm blanket and softly falling snow outside my window.

Why do I love this movie so much? I'll tell you. With pictures. LOTS of pictures. )

It is pure holiday cheese, but I'm from Wisconsin so you know that I like it. \o/
